Hurricane Update/Survival: We are still picking up our lives and work from Hurricanes Maria and Irma.  We lost power and water on September 5, 2017 and regained power and water almost 6 months later on February 18, 2018.  We still experience weekly water and power outages as the island struggles to rebuild.

People are still leaving the island as life is very different then life Pre-Maria.  Locals are still dumping their dogs/cats on the streets and beaches in alarming numbers.  We are working hard to help these animals, but funding is our biggest obstacle.  We still need your help.

We are so grateful for those of you who have helped and are still working to help us rebuild and save lives.

Donate Medications and Supplies.

Help us use more of our funds on saving animals by donating the necessary medications that cost us HUGE amounts of money.

Island Dog runs on YOUR donations.  We do not receive government funding.  With your help, we can end animal suffering in Puerto Rico.  YOUR generous donations are creating spay/neuter clinics, educational centers, and providing rehabilitation services for animals who have been emotionally and physically abused.

donating facts

Island Dog began out of a passion to help animals.  We believe that by working proactively in the local communities we can change the animal culture in the Caribbean.  Unlike the BIG Box organizations, your donations go directly to helping thousands of animals annually. SIMPLY PUT...Your donations produce visible and lasting results!   Since 2006, we have sterilized and aided in helping over 10,000 animals, preventing over 200,000 unwanted births, and finding new beginnings for over 5,000 animals.

We are NOT funded by the government of the U.S. or Puerto Rico.  We run off your donations.  Our scope of work, depends on the generous donations we receive.  We can only do what our budget will allow us to do.
