Island Dog is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to building animal friendly communities in Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra. We are focused on raising public awareness concerning the sufferings and cruelty animals endure in the U.S. Caribbean Islands.
*To provide children with a humane education program encouraging kindness to animals, respect for natural habitats, good citizenship, and peaceful conflict resolution.
*To feed and medicate homeless dogs living on beaches throughout Puerto Rico.
*To provide medications, food, and supplies to humane societies, animal rescues, and welfare organizations working to help animals in the U.S. Caribbean Islands.
*To promote responsible pet ownership.
*To provide rescue and rehabilitation services for abused and adoptable animals.
*To advocate shelter adoptions and work to eliminate puppy mills and backyard breeding.
